Our Story

Qendra provides leading-edge control systems optimized for trapped ion and neutral atom quantum computing without compromises. We turn scientific prototypes into successful products that are ahead of the curve, reliable and attuned to the needs of our customers.

Building on top of the long-running history of the trapped ion quantum information group of Prof. Home in building cutting-edge control systems, we got together to take it to the logical next level. Pun intended.

Three generations of control systems: From a DDS-chip-based solution over high-speed DACs to fully integrated RFSoCs. We have the experience that is required to build a system that truly satisfies.

We want to make time-intensive, incomplete and unreliable control systems for trapped ion and neutral atom quantum computing a thing of the past.

Meet the Team

Dr. Martin Stadler

The visionary with the knowledge and experience in quantum physics and electric engineering to make control systems work. Spending a PhD at Prof. Jonathan Home’s trapped ion research group, maintaining the previous, home-built version of their control systems and developing the next generation, he knows what it takes to satisfy an AMO lab.

End of 2024, he was awarded with the ETH pioneer fellowship to take the technology developed in the research lab out onto the commercial stage.

CEO & CTO

Dr. Ferdinand Felder

The pragmatic, down-to-earth fact checker of Martin’s crazy ideas. Having incorporated a spin-off and successfully exited it before, he knows how things should and should not be done.

Holding a PhD in laser physics, he also knows the application side. He is a tinkerer at heart, so he does not shy away to get his hands dirty on development tasks.

COO & CFO

The bright future of technical development at Qendra. With an Italian attitude towards handling setbacks and a Swiss attitude towards engineering, he makes things work.

Deputy CTO

Chidzahi Mabritto

The experienced leader of the TIQI group at ETH Zürich with diverse research areas such as quantum error correction, integrated optics and electronics in trapped ion chips, bosonic qubits, Penning trap architecture and, last but not least, control systems for trapped ions. With over 20 years of experience in trapped ions, Jonathan has also worked as a postdoc with Nobel prize winner D. J. Wineland and holds a PhD from the University of Oxford

Advisor

Prof. Dr. Jonathan Home

We, as Qendra, make tomorrow’s quantum computers possible today. We enable practically useful quantum computers by providing key infrastructure for quantum computing companies and research such that they can stop struggling with their control system and focus on building the future of quantum computing now.
